| Queens Our open mated queens are from the Minnesota hygienic line and are bred for gentleness, honey production, and some mite resistance. We purchase our queen mothers from reputable queen breeders and our drone mothers are the daughters of our best colonies from the previous year. Our apiaries are in the mountains of south-western Virginia so we strive to produce queens that are as cold tolerant as possible. Because we are a small family business, we care about the satisfaction of our customers. The queens you receive will be of the highest quality we can produce and will arrive in excellent condition. |
| Nucleus Hives It is time to begin thinking about the 2010 season. The queens for our nucleus hives will be young open-mated daughters of an Italian Minnesota hygienic breeder queen. Our drone mothers are from our best survivor stock. Our current price is $70.00 per four frame nucleus hive with a new frame and foundation exchange. If you order now you can lock in that price. Our price in 2010 will be $75.00. There is a $20.00 deposit all ordered nucleus hives. Usually folks pick up their hives as delivery is extra. Our nucleus hives are sold on a first come first served basis. If you order and pay the deposit for a nucleus hive and there are four other orders in front of you, your hive will be the fifth hive sold.
